Maria Ashram-History

History

The Maria Ashram community, nestled in the Diocese of Vijayawada, finds its home in Nuzvid, a serene town in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. Established in 2010, the community's noble purpose is to offer integral education to underprivileged children residing in the neighboring villages. The pioneering spirits behind this initiative were Fr. Michael Palackathadathil, Fr. Varghese Munduvelil, and Bro. Nannam Prem Kumar. Their vision led to the birth of a nurturing haven for over a thousand students at St. Mary's High School, the second apostolic institution in Andhra Pradesh. Recognizing the unique needs of children hailing from the villages, the community dedicates itself to providing the utmost care and attention. A passionate team of members devotes their efforts to deliver top-notch education, striving to unlock the students' hidden potentials and talents, empowering them as responsible individuals and valued members of society. The legacy of our founder's charism finds its true purpose as it comes to life within these young learners, who, with eagerness and enthusiasm, seek the gift of quality education. By providing a nurturing environment, the Maria Ashram community ensures that these children have the tools to shape a promising future for themselves and their communities. Through their collective efforts, they embody the true essence of compassion and service, nurturing young minds and empowering them to pursue a path of knowledge and growth.

The House will always Flourish when Humility, Charity and Holy Purity reign in it.
